Frank Putnam, M.D.

Frank Putnam

Dr. Putnam is Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’'s Hospital National Medical Center, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He was formerly Chief of Developmental Traumatology at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD.

The author of over 150 scientific papers and chapters and two books on dissociative disorders, Dr. Putnam’'s current research interests include: 1) strategies for going to scale with community programs to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect; 2) the long-term psychological, biological, social, and economic consequences of child maltreatment; and 3) use of new technologies to improve screening and services for child maltreatment and associated risk factors.
